New Roles for Supporting Digital Scholarship in Academic Libraries

We'll spend the day exploring the various ways in which academic librarians are supporting digital scholarship on their campuses. Our speakers represent a wide range of experiences and environments, from small colleges to large research universities.

 

Program:

  • Nick Shockey, Right to Research Coalition/SPARC – discussing FASTR legislation and the White House open access directive
  • —Jean Bauer, Digital Humanities Librarian, Brown University – supporting digital humanities research
  • —Jen Ferguson, Data Services Librarian, Northeastern University – scalable support for data needs in the sciences and social sciences
  • —Discussion on recent OA policy development in New England  (Representatives from URI, Wellesley College, and Olin College of Engineering, with Ellen Duranceau, MIT)
  • —Roundup of recent events/meetings
